Trouble has come to Ferngully again as Zak discovers the forest is being used to dump chemicals and toxic wastes by a secret organization. Can Zak manage to stop them or will he need a little inside help from a few friends before it's too late.

" Tsch, late. Remind me again why we're even bothering to get help from these people in the first place?"
Ashley sighed. Jase was rarely in a good mood whenever the toxic dumping went on, but today was an exception even with that in mind. She could make out a distinct vein throbbing on his forehead, and the way he gritted his teeth could only be described as homicidal. Ashley had rarely seen her boss like this, and goodness knew she'd seen just about every side of him.
" Because," she began, speaking softly so as not to gain his wrath. "..We've got some people growing wise to the dumping your company does. It's not much that we do, but still.. Preservation groups'll be all over us. These people, well...They know the best places to go. They've agreed to help us out."
She paused for a moment as Jase shot her a vague expression. She wanted to make sure he was truly listening, and not becoming vengeful toward her for setting this up. When he gestured for her to continue, she gave an inward sigh of relief. At least, for now, things were going well.
" I'm not sure what we need to do for them just yet, but rest assured- it'll be something to do with this forest and animals."
Jase clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. He didn't like this plan, and Ashley felt a little insulted he was about to interrupt her.
" So we'll be in even more trouble? Great going, Ash."
The blonde frowned, feeling the urge to snap at her boss rising. However, she managed to keep her composure. Surely, he'd like what she had planned out next.
" You didn't let me finish, Jase."
He moved his sunglasses a little, sending her a pointed glare. But he'd let her continue, since he hadn't said anything. She knew she only had a few minutes, and one shot to try and impress him.
" The beauty of this is, they'll help us do the dumping- we get them what they want, and if any law comes snooping around, we set them up to take the entire fall. If they try and you know, point fingers at us- well, I gave them the name of one of your rival companies as ours. That way, if anybody believes them...Hopefully my hard work will bring one of your other enemies crashing down. We'll kill two birds with one stone, so to speak."
She tilted her head to the side, awaiting his response.
There was no change at first, but then he smirked while pushing the sunglasses back up the bridge of his nose.
" Not bad Ash, maybe you're useful after all. Let's just hope they -do- get here soon, so we can do whatever. If they're going to help, and serve as scapegoats ,I don't care what it is."

Later as it was getting close to dark, rumor has been spreading through the forest about two humans dumping toxic waste into the forest. The hit of the news got bad who no creature had saw a sigh of Mattie or his pack of bats anywhere. Last animal to spot them was a small scrawny little brown black bat. He had to find help for those poor bats and soon before they were doom by the touch of human distruction!
The young little bat spread his wings and took soar, hoping to find someone that can rescue the animals. "HELP!!" Leslie was still with Batty and the others while they try to figure out what was bothering her without giving in, that's when they heard the cry for help. "What was that?" Asked Pips!! "HEEEELPP!" Squeaked the voice again.
"Look up there!!" Leslie pointed a claw up above. The small bat had grown tired from flapping and fell down, landing right in front of Crysta and Zak's feet.

Zak looked down at the small bat for a moment while Crysta bent down to be at eye level with it. Zak followed her gesture. "Hey relax take a few deep breaths" he says. After the bat had followed Zak's instructions Crysta said "Now tell us what's wrong?" she spoke in a soft concerned tone

"HUMANS! There's humans in the forest! They...they're dumping dark liquid into the waters!!" Cried the small bat, heaving his breath in and out. "What?" Says Pips in return as his answer. "Humans? Humans in the forest again?!"
"YES!! And Mattie's been missing! So has his herd!!" The bat finished.

"Must be those two jerks I talked to before Jase and his assistant Ashley" Zak mumbled of to himself than to the others. "You know them?" Crysta asks with a hurt expression on her face. "Yeah but they are not friends" Zak says. They stopped talking when they heard the part about Mattie missing. "Huh. Good riddance" Zak replies crossing his arms. "Zak this is no time to hold a grudge we have to find Mattie and his herd" Crysta says "Find him?! Crysta are you nuts?! He's enemy not a friend why should we bother doing something nice for him after what he did to us?!" Zak replies "Zak, fairies are guardians of the forest and that's including all the plants trees and animals that inhabit it. If you don't want to help that's fine but I am going to find Mattie and his herd and help rescue them with or without your help, who is coming with me?" Crysta says. Zak sighed she sure knew how to make him feel bad for things he would say or do. "I'll do it" he says raising his hand in a volunteering kind of motion

"Wha? Nah-uh! Us saving Mattie? Baaa I rather stick my head in a corkscrew!" Says Batty, who also refused to help Mattie, but gave him Zak a scoff look from his face and rolled his eyes when he saw that the 3 inch human gave up after Crysta instist that they should rescue Mattie and the herd. Pips gave no comment, but he knew Crysta was right. Whether they like it or not, they knew it was the fairies job to protect all of the magical forces of nature, and that included animals they couldn't get along with. "I'm in!" He also stated, rasing his hand up.
Leslie gaves another uneasy look from her face, worry about going near another human again that would dare lay a finger on a poor innocent animal, but after hearing what Crysta had to say, Leslie too also knew it was for the better. The she bat couldn't blame herself for the jerk that took her in when she got lost and seperated from her batkeeping human and bats family by mistake.

Crysta gave Zak and Pips a small smile she was glad they were going to help her. Zak meanwhile unseen by Crysta mouthed the words 'kiss up' to Pips. Crysta did not see him do that because she was talking to Leslie. "Leslie, are you coming with us?" she asks

"Say no say no say no!!" Batty repeated under her breath, but Leslie could hear what he was saying next to him and gave him a glare before poking him on the arm by her shoulder. "Batty be quiet." Then she turn back to the faires and the human. "Well..."
"No! No way! No how! I'm not going to help that uncaring useless mean jerk! I'm staying right here....to...err...guard this tree! Yeah that's it!" Batty said obviously lying, putting his wings around it. "You're gonna stay and guard a tree....by yourself?" Pips asked crossing his arms too, it was no suprise to him that Batty was backing down cause he was acting like a whimp. "YES! If Leslie's not going, then I'm not going! Right Les?" Fortunately, Leslie didn't answer the fruit bat right away. She was still trying to decide if she wanted to rescue Mattie or not. She shrugged her shoulders at Zak and Crysta, giving them a look that says 'What do I do now?'

Zak shrugged his shoulders to Leslie as a gesture that said well that's for you to decide. He then turned to Batty and said "So you are just gonna stay here and guard this tree huh? And here I thought you might actually want to maybe oh I don't know help the guy you hate earn his respect and maybe a little something else?" he says indicating to Leslie.

"What you talking about human?" Says Batty, not following what Zak was trying to lead in from his question. Upon listening to this question, Leslie couldn't sit behind and over think her second thoughts much longer. So before she could tell Crysta she wanted to help in, Leslie knew they were gonna do Batty's help as well. One human, two fairies and a fruit bat could not do it alone. Leslie sneak aside Batty and run her single claw up from his arm all the way up into his shoulder. "Oh Batty..." She said in a flirty voice. "You're not gonna let me face those dangerous humans by myself...are you?" She added, rubbing in his tense shoulders.
Listening to Leslie's flirtious voice send chills down Batty's spine. And it nearly made his wires from his antenne spark, but not as highly painful as it usuall did. His face turn red, much redder than a regular blush from the face you could imagine. At his attemps to impress Leslie, maybe rescusing Mattie would be the only way for him to finally hook up with her. And if that's what it was, then all he needed was for his braverly to kick in. Batty shook the shakey fluster blush from his face and puff up his chest and brush his small hair straight. "I'm coming with you!" He said to all of his friends. "You wouldn't last a minute alone with these critters little lady!" He said, giving Leslie a flirtious eyebrown raise. Leslie had no idea what he was talking about, but he was glad he could come along. "Well that work!" She thought to herself without hearing herself giggle.

Zak and Crysta couldn't help but laugh a little too. "Alright let's go" Crysta says. 'At least Leslie can take a hint' Zak thought still amused by Leslie flirting with Batty to get him to come with them

" Ugh, mangy little things, aren't they?"
Ashley furrowed her eyebrows, with a sour expression as she looked at two cages that now contained bats. Over the course of an hour or so, their contacts had finally shown up, and told them what they'd wanted in return.
It had been, to say the least, a little surprising. Ashley and Jase could care less about the local wildlife and the land itself- though getting any of it would be good, just to sell it off to the equally-as-greedy logging companies. For some reason, the ones who had offered to help them do the dumping- and unknowingly set themselves up to take the fall for the two corrupt business types, had wanted certain types of bats captured.
Neither of the two humans could see why.
" What's so special about these things? They're all the same- a dime a dozen."
Jase shrugged. He agreed, but he couldn't turn down a good opportunity.
" Eh, whatever. When the others get back, they can take these flea-infested, over glorified flying rats away for whatever purpose. Heh, good thing about them not being special is, nobody will care they're gone. Nobody will even know."
Oh, boy was Jase wrong.
