Crysta was the first to notice Goanna approaching the group "Hello Goanna" she says

Zak stops staring at the new bat for a moment once he heard Crysta mention someone's name. He turned to see the goanna that had once tried to eat him and he would've got up and run away screaming if he had not remembered he was his normal human size.

"Matt what are you doing over here?" Leslie asked before giving him back eye contact. "I told you it's Mattie!"

"Uhh pardon me Matthew but ummm..." Batty said trying to cut in, but Mattie gave the poor little fruit bat a shifting glare of his own. "IT'S MATTIE! And what is that stinky thing you have on your head?" Mattie pointed, his claw almost perk the spark from Batty's antanne."YAAAH!!"

"Careful Mattie! That's an antennae!" Leslie said, trying get Mattie away from Batty. "Antennae? Hahaha...." The darker bat threw out a hearty laugh. "You mean to tell me those humans put an experiment on you?! I thought you be bat bait by then."
Leslie yanked him from the back of his wing. "Leave him alone Mattie. He's been through a--"

"I'LL LEAVE HIM ALONE WHEN I SAY SO!!" Mattie shouted, swinging his fist at Leslie with a punch from the bottom of her mouth. "Hey you can't treat her that way!!" Batty growled, ducking into a fight with Mattie, but the bat already grab his wings on Batty's wires again and began to start toying with them. "Let's see what kind of bat you are when you--"

"STOP IT! ENOUGH!!" Pips says as he started to use his special powers to force Mattie away from Batty from any harm. "ARRRGH!! STINKIN' BUG!" The bat shouted, swooshing his wing against at Pips and threw against the ground.

"Pips!" Crysta says flying over to him and helping him to his feet. "Are you alright?" She asks him and Batty and Leslie

"Alright Mattie, I think we've had just about enough of you" Zak grumbles slipping off his shirt and scoops Mattie up in it holding it tight trapping him inside. He grinned pleased.

Crysta sent him a small smile

Suddenly Goanna wasn't so bored anymore. He either didn't remember Zak, or didn't care, for his expression didn't change as he watched the human scoop up the troublemaker.

"...could eat 'im."

He offered. Not that he thought he could squeeze another in, but simply because this... bat had sent a fairy flying. Andean shuddered at the thought of watching Goanna eat some animal.

"Ugh....I'm fine. Thanks." Pips said with a short smile on his face once Crysta help him up, but getting trap in a shirt wasn't gonna hold Mattie in for long. He had forgotten that Zak was there watching the scene with him, Batty and Leslie. The bat began to flutter crazy around in circles as he was trapped inside Zak's shirt.

Angerily, Mattie tear a big ripping hole from his shirt and launch himself at Zak bitting him from the nose with loud chirping bat calls. "MATTIE STOP!!" Leslie cried. She flew towards Mattie, pinning him down tight on the ground best as she could. Mattie use his feet together and grab Leslie from the behind threwing her down. The bat growl at her, but he lower his growling tone down when all of her new found friends were staring at her. Before they can try to stop Mattie, he back a few inches away from her. "Come on Leslie, we're getting outta here."

"But but..." Leslie mutter, but Mattie had no time to agrue with her. "NOW!!" Mattie cried, raising his voice at her. He wouldn't leave without Leslie until she has him staying on his slight. Leslie gave her new found friends a sad look in her eyes before leaving. Batty watch as his beloved Leslie flew away close behind with his big rival. The poor guy shed a tear before rubbing the side of his head where it still hurt from his anteanne wires.

Zak covered his nose with his right hand. He had to admit he didn't expect the bat to rip open his shirt that was holding him captive and then bite him on the nose. He felt stupid at the moment but he didn't show it as he glared at Mattie. 'Stupid bat' he thought.

Crysta stared for a couple moments in the direction Leslie and Mattie left in before walking over to Batty "Are you going to be alright?" she asks worried about her friend placing a hand softly on his shoulder area

Batty's lips shooken and eye twitching. The fruit bat wailed out loud covering his face as tears drop down from each eyes. "BAAAAAAAH!!! IT'S HOPELESS! The love of my life is stuck with a brat!!" WAAAAHH!!" Batty sob before stopping when everyone gave him nothing but stares. "I said that out loud did I?"

Meanwhile back on the other part of the forest, Mattie's bat pack herd was feeding on fruits from the trees waiting for their leader to return. "Hey you guys look! Mattie's back! And he found Leslie!!" One of the bats called as he pointed. The two bats landed with a smooth grace on their foot by the fruits and the other bats. "Welcome back sir. You're just in time for lunch." They greeted, but Leslie wasn't hungry after that terrible humilation she had back there with Mattie and Batty. Mattie and the other bats eyed at the she bat when she wasn't feasting down.

"Leslie, what are you waiting for? EAT!!" Mattie cried pushing one of the uneaten berries at her, but Leslie refused to chow down. She flick the berry away from their wings. Mattie wasn't too happy with this. "Leslie...what did we talk about when we're having lunch?"
"The family that stays together, eats together. But Mattie--" Leslie replied. "No buts! You know better when you have to follow our rules in this herd. Now stop moping and eat your food!" The other bats continue on eating as they watch Mattie telling Leslie to eat with them. "And get rid of that collar too. I can't be seen with a bat lolly jagging with a human object. It's a disgrace!" He added.

Once that word disgrace espace from Mattie's mouth, it was time for Leslie to stand up for this so called leader of a jerk. "DISGRACE?! You think I'm a disgrace? What do you call humliating me in front a friend and those other creatures?" Mattie stop finishing his food and shove it away behind the other bats and fought back. "We don't tolerate with animals like those! Especially not with that patheic whine of a Batty. I don't like him, I don't trust him! This rainforest is no place for a coward like him!"

Leslie knew that Mattie was just saying those words because of his jealously, but the bat was growing tired of this crazy idiot's rants. "Why does everyone I make friends with have to be a big threat to you Mattie?!" Mattie growled at her. "I've had enough of this! Take it off now....Nilla!!" The bats drop their foods, most of them with their mouths fully open going "OOOOOH!!" Leslie was not pleased when he said that word. "You said we never talk about that again!"

"And I won't if you do what I say...NILLA! I'm gonna give you on the count or three or I'll--"
"You'll what?" Leslie snapped. "I'm not kidding. If you still wanna stay with my herd, take the collar off."
"I rather chew on a bug's foot than to follow your orders again Matthew!!" Through with the fight, Leslie stubborny flew off.

OOC: ooo burn to Mattie Lol

BIC: Crysta hugged Batty "Oh it'll be okay Batty" she said while casting Zak a look. He sighed but nodded "Shrink me Crysta" he says. She stepped away from Batty and flew up to Zak's eye level. "Bless your heart with magic light I give the gift of fairy size!" she says. As the blue magic light coming from Crysta's fingers surrounded Zak he shrunk back down to three inches tall. Zak then walked over to Batty "Hey Batty how's about you and I go find this love bat of yours?" he says "We can even teach that one other guy a lesson he will never forget" Zak added with a grin as he himself wanted a bit of revenge on that one other bat by the name of Mattie. "I will go with you guys too" Crysta volunteers

"Count me in." Pips agreed also in volunteering. Batty was a little concern about this new idea. He didn't expect Zak to be shrink back to three inches small again, though it probably wasn't a big suprise why he ever did came back to Ferngully thanks to Leslie. But what Batty was more concern for the most was his friends. He didn't think it was such a good idea. "You sure?" But-but-but Mattie! He's...he's big and strong! I can't get Leslie in my batty arms if Mattie finds out! HE'LL KILL ME!"

"Now come on Batty that's no way to talk. You love her right? And from what I could tell earlier she cares about you, So why not give it a shot?" Crysta says
"Yeah and besides Pips, Crysta, and I will be there so don't worry about Mattie, you just worry about talking to that she-bat friend of yours" Zak says

Crysta had a large pointer about her side of the view. It was true that Batty did care for Leslie, from that moment they first spotted eyes onto each other back at the Biology lab, Batty knew it was love at first sight. But with Mattie on the burning edge, it wouldn't be easy for him. Not on his own to say the least. "How are you gonna do that if I had the chance? Do you think Mattie will wanna let her go and have me take her? NO! Mattie's a bully! I can't compete with him! BAD IDEA!! But no don't listen to me. What are you gonna do? Think of a plan to lurke Mattie away so I'll take my shots at love?"

Meanwhile back with the bats herd, once Leslie had start flapping away. Mattie snarled. He couldn't let her go straight off the bat (Get it? Bat? XD) Whatever Mattie wanted, he gets want he wants. "Come on boys! SICK HER!!" The bats did as they were told and follow Mattie from behind. When Leslie heard the annoying screech sounds from bats, she knew it had to be Mattie. "AHHH!!" She screamed and flew as fast as she can, trying to somehow find a way for them to lost her trail. It wasn't long til they soon lost her through a big trail with different directions to take, so they split into two groups and began to go on the search for Leslie.

"FIND HER! I won't rest til she's been found!!!" The snappy Mattie order soon as he left with his part of the other herd. Leslie poke her head outta a old barking tree cover in loads of leaves. The she bat was safe for now. She pulled her head back into her hiding spot again wondering what to do. If she knew Mattie, it's that he was too crazy over her. Obessed you might say. The diamond stone hanging from Leslie's collar sparke that shining bright light. The vanilla cream color bat look upon her reflection with a sad gleem. "Oh Batty....even if he knew about the truth, what will I ever do?"

" Are you sure we should be doing this, Jase? I mean, normally..I don't care, but that kid knew something. What if, he's got a little gang and...I dunno?"

Jase sighed for the umpteenth time. It had been tricky to get his truck past the usual barriers, and he and his associate had been forced to get a little more 'creative', since none of the other employees wanted anything to do with tonight's dumping. Not since that kid had stormed into their building earlier that day. Sure, they laughed him out- but it had only taken an hour or so for the message to start worrying some of the higher-ups. Jase wasn't concerned of course, he wanted to see how much he could get away with. It was somewhat sporting, he believed. It also gave him a taste of his own power, in a sense. Jase, and even some of the logging companies, had some friends in high places- friends who could hold off the so-called 'hippies' and work to get the areas near here developed.

Of course the two might have had a change of heart- especially Ashley who continued to be paranoid about this whole thing- if they knew there were talking animals and fairies. Or, maybe they would do something worse than chemical dropping. It all depended.

For now however ,they were blissfully unaware of fairies and talking animals, unconcerned about the regular ones, and had no clue there were any evil spirits of destruction trapped in trees somewhere in this forest. All Ashley knew was Jase had wanted her to tag along for this, 'just in case', so she was obligated. He, meanwhile, got out a small canister. It wasn't a big dump they were doing, he'd done worse ones in the weeks before. However, an inspection was coming the next day, and the ground here ate up the chemicals quickly. Especially in a certain area- Jase was giddy that nobody had tested the ground and caught him yet.

But there'd be consequences eventually, of course.

" Keep an eye out."

Ashley nodded, and looked around- feeling a little uneasy being out here before the sun was completely down, but since Jase usually went to find water or went far enough to not be seen, she could just shrug this whole thing off to them being 'ranger's.

She'd done that lie before.

Meanwhile Zak and the gang were unaware of Leslie and Jase's presence and had spent most of the day trying to convince Batty to talk to Leslie.
"Why not Batty? He can't be that hard to handle" Zak says
"And besides if you don't then you will probably lose your chance for life" Crysta says

BIC: "Hmm what do I got to lose?" Batty thought to himself. If it hadn't been for Zak back when Ferngully was in danger, Hexxus would of destory everything in sight and he couldn't blame Zak for all the good times that they had from before...even if he didn't trust him at the beginning from that time Crysta had him shrunk by accident.

"She's right. Leave it to us and you take care of your girl. We'll handle the rest. First we gotta go find her and see if she's okay before it gets late." Says Pips as he was seeing that the sun was setting in late and most nights, fairies were busy taking breaks and catching up on their rest like the all of the other animals in the rainforest do. Batty decided now was his time to go for it. "Zak, little bugs, it's times like this that makes me sad fruit bats like me are gonna die 15 years before you guys do."
