"Oh."
Sitting at the base of one of the many trees in Ferngully, the ever-lazy Andean idly scratched at the tip of his nose with a single claw.
"A bat with a pet human. How odd."
Wriggling his nose now, slowly rolling up onto all fours. Crysta and the other fairies would laugh upon seeing this, he thought, ambling along. He'd been off hiding upon word of Hexxus' escape, and as such hadn't witnessed Zak's initial visit to Ferngully.

"LEMMIE GO HUMAN!!" Shriek Leslie. No matter how much she try to squirm, it was hard for the bat to get her collar off Zak's clothes. The bat continue fly with Zak force along as they reach along Ferngully. Leslie began to smash her, along with Zak into trees on purpose hoping that the collar would let them loose. "LET...GO!!" She yelled. The crashing was making her head feel dizzy.
Pips and the others were just chilling and hanging with their bear friend Andean was coming over to bring them some odd but funny news. Just when he show up, a sudden loud call struggle and crashing rang inside Batty's ears. "I know those sounds. Is that..." Batty murmured to himself but made no comment out loud in front of his fairy friends. The fruit bat thought he be hearing things, so he try to ignore them but he couldn't any further when Andean show up to tell them what he saw.

"OW! Ow! I'm" -crash- "I'm trying!" he says trying to tug her collar loose from his sleeve. Finally after hitting a tree for the millionth time he got lose from the collar and fell over backwards dizzy and everything spinning around him.
Meanwhile Crysta heard yelling not too far off "What is that?" she asks before noticing Andean "Hello Andean" she says

"Crysta." Andean sat back on his rump with a small sound of exertion. "There is a bat." He cleared his throat, coughing a bit from walking such a distance. Andean really did admire the fairies, and as such he wanted to be perfectly articulate when speaking to them. Especially such a likable and friendly one as Crysta.
"A bat." Cough. "Pulling along a human." Cough cough. What a bother his throat was right now. "As if it were a young one or a pet." Scratching at his nose with the single claw again.
"I fear they may be inadvertedly damaging the trees, from the sounds of it."

Batty was confused on how a bat would be damaging trees. He understand it was work cause by a human cause humans to animals were nothing but trouble but another bat wouldn't do anything like that in the rainforest. The loud sounds of crashing soon drew a close. When the animals saw who those noises belong to, Batty's heart drop within a beat.
"That's..." Batty exlaims in a loud gasp. He knew that familar bat anywhere. "LESLIE!?!!? AHHHH!!" The bat screech and flew inside the top of the tree branches to hide himself. Pips was a little bit startled by this fruit bat's reaction. "What's with him?" He asked, drawing a blank face at Crysta and the others with shrug shoulders and arms as an answer.

"A human a bat?" Crysta repeats 'Zak!' she thought before flying off as fast as her wings could carry her.
Meanwhile Zak had finally past out. His head was pounding along with a bunch other sore spots on his body.
Crysta flew over to them. "Oh my gosh! Zak!" she says landing softly on his chest and tapping his face.
Zak let out a groan before opening his eyes. All he saw at first was a faint blue light that faded into the image of crysta. "Hi Crysta" he whispered
"Are you alright?" she asks
"Yeah I'm okay"

Blinking in soft confusion, Andean glanced at Pip to see if he was the only one completely out of the loop. Not that it wasn't a rare occurance. Due to his laziness and awkward hibernation schedule (usually transposing itself mid-spring), he missed a lot of what happened in the forest.

The top of the tree branches russlee as the cool krisp fresh leaves flew down gently. Poor Batty was in panick wondering what to do now that Leslie has return again. Scared outta his mind, the fruit bat needed to clam hiself down. Now that his crush has been seen once more and hope there was not a sign of Mattie anywhere, Batty thought this would be his final lucky break down at impressing Leslie, but he couldn't do it with his wire antennae from the side of his head. It would clearly explain everything to Leslie what the scientests had did to him back at the lab when they first try to escape.
Wandering if Batty was gonna take a long time in hidding, Pips decided not to bother the fruit bat. He glance down seeing that Crysta has already greet Zak in a way with bare open arms....sorta. There he saw that the bat next to Zak must of been the one that Andean was talking about. While Crysta and Zak were doing some catching up, Pips decided to help out the poor she bat and see what the problem might be. As he flew down, he notice there that her collar strap was caught onto Zak's sleeve.
"Stop squirming! I'm gonna help you." Pips said to Leslie to steady her down. He carefully unbuckle the strap from the collar and let it go from the sleeve in Zak's clothing. A piece of string was still caught onto her collar, but Leslie was thankful she was free at last. "Ohh thank you little strange bug! Said Leslie rubbing the back of her neck. It was good to finally let go of her collar, but she couldn't seem to throw it away just yet. "Would you be kind to put it back on my neck?"
"What?! But I just--" Pips excalimed, but there was something in Leslie's eyes that reminded him about something familar he knows. "Hey you have green eyes. I never notice that on a bat before."
"Oh thank you. Now if you don't mind...I like to have my collar back on. I would if I could but ummm heh...no fingers!" Leslie said, waving the single claws from her bat wings.

Once Leslie was free from his sleeve Zak sat up rubbing the back of his head mouthing the words 'ow' as he did so.
"Here let me help with that" Crysta says
"Uh no, no that's alright...it'll pass" He says secretly fearing Crysta might make another mistake
Crysta made a face that seemed to say she didn't believe him but she shrugged and turned to face Pips and Leslie. "Here I will do it" she says smiling taking the collar from Pips and placing it back around Leslie's neck.
"Hey Pips...where's Batty? I got a friend for him to meet" Zak says
Crysta looked around "He was here a moment ago. Batty? Batty?" She replies

"Time to make a impression." Batty mutter still hiding from the tree branches. Thinking quickly, Batty wrapped his ears together to hide the wires from his head so Leslie wouldn't see them. However, it was gonna be differcult for him to find them this long without getting stunned by the shocking from his antannes. "Yeow!!" Yelped Batty from that first stinging of the shock.
"Ladies and gentleman! HEEEEEEEEEEEEREEEEEEEEEEE'S BATTY!!!" Batty dropped down gently like a rose bush and landed on his feet. "Well hello little lady have we met?" Batty ask politely taking a great big bow at Leslie like a gentleman. Leslie smiled. "Batty? Is that..." But her smile had drop when she gave Batty a funny look on her face. "What happened to your ears?" She reached her claw over to him to touch, but Batty back out. "Don't touch that! YEOW!!" Another sting had struck his ears again, this time his bat ears let loose and reveal his antanne wires from his head.
Leslie gasped and cover her mouth. "Batty...your....your head! It's...it's....WHAT IS THAT?!" Batty hung his head in embarassment. "No pressing charge here...." Batty said to himself, letting that last mutter slip outta his mouth softly.

"Batty said some human scientists did it to him" Crysta adds.

Watching quietly, Andean nibbled on a fallen leaf, murmuring something about the existence of such things and really only half paying attention to himself.
Which wasn't all that usual, but then again, newcomers to Ferngully were something of an event.

"I see that." Leslie said commenting back at Crysta and Zak. But she was still suprirsed to see that Batty had to be stuck with antanne on his head. Leslie's ears hang loose down at the side. She had no one but to blame herself. Keeping quiet, Pips needed to break up this sadful fest.
"Batty, you didn't tell us you were close with another bat." He added, flewing in between them. Leslie lower her eyes down to the ground in a soft spoken blush from the face, but she clear in her thoart.
"Oh her? Ha!! That's nothing, one time we--" Batty was beginning to explain, but just as he was trying to, a sudden loud rude comment break in from the sky. "LESLIE!" Leslie cover her face with one of her wings. "Oh no..."
Batty had fear the worse. "Mattie..."
As fear as be true, Batty had been right. It was his rival Matthew or as he like to be called Mattie for short. The dark bat flew in with a glide with a soft parch landing. "Leslie! Didn't I tell you to stay with the---" Mattie began, but stop his sentence on purpose when he saw whom she was with. "BATTY?!"
Batty chuckle emabrassly. "Hi Mattie." He said with a shakey wave from his wing.

'Geez how many bats does Batty know?' Zak thought. He glared though he could tell this new bat by the name of Mattie was trouble he had been in it enough times to be able to tell. "What do you want?" he says

"Fff. Can't get a decent nap anymor'."
Andean quite nearly leapt off his seat at the sudden appearance of the brightly colored lizard, his fanged maw open in a yawn. Having recently eaten something, Goanna wasn't really interested in the bats or the bear as a snack. And he'd never eat a fairy. Well. Not unless there was nothing else.
Sprawling his body over a low branch, the lizard watched the precedings with an affected boredness. The voices and yelling had woken him from his daily nap in the sun, something he was willing to eat someone for if he just wasn't so full.
Andean poked at his own nose worriedly, casting a frightened eye at the lizard. He was bigger than Goanna, yes, but he didn't possess what he believed to be 'killing' claws and teeth. The bear chewed on his leaf more quickly, looking over at the fairies, human, and bats as if taking note of who to hide behind should Goanna be angered.
