So I watched Peter Pan again yesterday and I was wondering why there wasn't a thread for it here. It's always been one of my childhood favorites. I just love the voice work of Hans Conried in this movie. Not only does he do the voice of George Darling, he also voices Captain Hook! When I was little I never would've imagined that he done both of those voices.

Oh yes I remember Peter Pan, haven't watched it for quite awhile though but I own the special edition of it.
It wasn't one of my favorites but it still is a good film that I do like to watch every now and again

It's traditional for one guy to play Captain Hook and Mr. Darling in the Peter Pan stores Nightworm. It's been that way for a very long time from what I hear. I think they do the same thing too in the play also.
But I like the movie too. As a matter of fact, even in the 2003 version the actor who plays Mr. Darling also plays Hook too, but I can't remember his name. I'll have to look it up later.
I remember when I was younger, my mom would always sing Following the Leader because of the song when John and Michael would join the Lost Boys to find the indians lol! XP
I love the songs a lot in the movie. I think my favorites are You can Fly, You Can Fly and What Makes The Red Man Red.

I think they do the same thing too in the play also. Cool! I did not know that, Nilla! Thanks for that little bit of trivia there. Unfortunately I haven't seen very many of the other versions of Peter Pan. I remember we watched the old black and white version at school but I only caught bits and pieces of it because I think my mom checked me out during the movie and the class was one of those rowdy ones. I have seen the 2003 version, though, and I like it at a lot. I remember Jason Isaacs as Lucius Malfoy from the Harry Potter films but I don't remember him being both Captain Hook and Mr. Darling, so I'll definitely have to watch that movie again! |
