This new movie is coming out later this month called Legend of the Guardians and it's mostly about owls but they're based on the books by Kathryn Lasky. Anyone seen previews for this yet? I did saw a trailer of it once I think when I went to go watch How to Train Your Dragon in IMAX 3D and the animation is so beautiful, that it's breath-taking!
And the good thing is it's from the same studio that made Happy Feet. Well it is from Warner Brothers, so yah go figure lol! I was actually thinking about seeing this cause it's taken up my curiousity! I haven't had the chance to read the books yet, but I do know that I've seen them being sold at Borders.
So is anyone gonna go see this too?

I saw some previews for it too, and I agree. I think the animation looks beautiful! It's by the same people who made Happy Feet, which I thought was an adorable movie. But the owl one looks more serious...kinda like Lord of the Rings with owls, lol. I think I'll have to go check it out sometime.

Oh, yeah, the animation in this movie looks gorgeous! Though when I first saw previews for it, the animation put me in the mind of Disney's Valiant, so I never would've thought that the makers of Happy Feet were behind this movie! Still, I'm looking forward to seeing it, especially since I've just started reading the first book in the series. I've been meaning to read the books for awhile but for some reason I never got around to it. Where the movie's coming out I figured now would be a better time than any to start reading them, so I bought a book set that had the first three books in them at my book fair, and now it looks like I might have to buy the rest of the series!

My mom and I just saw this awhile back and we both thought it was pretty good. My mom loves owls and the owls in this movie are just awesome! They're warriors that you wouldn't want to mess with!

Same here. I haven't seen it yet, but I would love to. And it's really not like me to be missing out on great movies before. I'm so jealous that people have seen it cause I've heard them say good comments about the film.

With how expensive it is for me to see movies in theaters my family just waits until they come on dvd instead since it's way cheaper than spending almost 30 dollars for 2 people to go see when you can rent the movie for 3 dollars on dvd or buy it for 16 dollars.

I have both the DVD+Digital Copy and Blu-Ray(a combo pack thing). It's a really great movie. The soundtrack for the movie is too. The books are great too(read the first books years ago). Though the books are somewhat different, since the movie is only based off the books. I was angsting a little over that fact while watching the movie XD

I forgot to mention that I saw it too! Well actually I watch it during christmas eve, so my dad and I got pre-order it from TV (it was a little bit more easier to get it at the time instead of waiting for it at the Redbox Their waiting takes so much longer!) And I was honestly surprised how dark it was. I was almost going to shut it down half way because it scared me a little bit, but I chose not too. Even my own dad admitted that he thought the film was beautiful and I don't hear that kind of comment from him a lot when we're watching animated movies.

I love darker films especially in fantasy related genres like Lord of the Rings Eragon Merlin and Legend of the Seeker
