This is gonna sound so very stupid, but I've been thinking that I got the need to bring it up. So the idea just came to me as I was playing the Ferngully trivia game, and I thought...what if the ending was change to something new?
And if it did, how would you picture it if it wasn't like the same old ending we have for the movie now?
The only small change I would probably try to put it for the film is for Zak to change into a fairy and stay with Crysta's kind. I know I said it sounded a little bit stupid, but I was curious about it. Cause I get sorta sad when the good characters have to leave the good old or new friends behind for something else.
But...the only problem to this solution is that IF Zak did decided to stay as a magic fairy for the rest of his life, then there's gonna be great causes with him and Pips. And we BOTH know how much those two boy LOVE Crysta to death. Know what I mean? lol!

Interesting idea Nadine.
I wouldn't have minded if he had decided to stay and become a fairy but it certainly would cause lots and lots of fighting between he and Pips or it may have interested a lot of Zak/Pips fans giving them far more ideas then they had already if you know what I mean.
On the other hand for my own personal reasons I like him returning to human as well because it means he can help defend Ferngully in other ways than the Fairies themselves can being one example among others.

I couldn't imagine what could've happened if the ending had changed, because I like it the way it is, but I guess would've liked to have seen what would've happened if Zac had stayed with Crysta, and I can't help but wonder what would've happened if Hexxus had won, since he is one of my favorite characters, but I guess that's what fanfiction is for!

PFFT! OMG if Hexxus had WON?! Since when did anyone ever root for the bad guy to get their way? Haha! XD

oh sure, terrible things would happen, but it'd be interesting.
I don't know, the ending to the movie is actually one of the things that disappoints me about it. They built up to how terrible Hexxus was, and gave him that amazing skeletal form- and then...poof! beaten so easily. I think, at the very least, the final battle should have been a lot better. It wasn't really much of a fight at all, and yes i care about that stuff. XD i'm a girl who loves her action!
And while i love my favorite villains, I like to see them get a proper end. I feel like Hexxus was cheated out of a proper ending. :x
I like most everything else about the end, though. xD Hexxus just needed to be more awesome- i wanted to see what that skeletal form was capable of.

I think you're right there cause I love big movie climaxes and it seems like this movie got kinda cheated out of one but then again it was a very low budget film too so I can kinda see why it happened as well |

It sure would've been unexpected! I think if Hexxus would've beaten the fairies, then FernGully would be black ash and dust. The animals, fairies, and humans of the world would PROBABLY become extinct sooner or later....
But at least Hexxus would be happy! lol
