I'm not sure if many people know this, but there is a real rainforest in Australia that inspired the film. Its actual name is Ferntree Gully, and if you look at pictures online, one can easily tell how the lush jungles of knee-high ferns inspired Fox's producers.
So, I was wondering if anyone on this forum has ever been there on a visit? I haven't, but if I ever am lucky enough to vacation to Australia, it would be something of a nostalgiac dream of mine to stop by the REAL FernGully, and experience the magic of being in the rainforest that I've known and loved for years. I'd also take a hike up to Mount Warning, and look around for that Hexxus tree...hehe. I think it would be a blast exploring that place.

I knew there was a real place, but I've never been there either. The farthest out of the US I've ever been is Canada.
But I second your feelings. I would love to go there someday and explore. If any of us goes there, we HAVE to post tons of pictures and such about it!
Are you allowed to climb up mt warning? I always thought it was off limits, sort of owned by the remainder of various aboriginal tribes and off limits because they used it for various rituals and such?

Oh, really? That's funny because I've read a handful on people's vacation stories who claim they've hiked up to Mount Warning on a day trip and such. Maybe that was a while ago, but I'm not sure. Now you've made me curious. And I agree, if any of us goes there we've got to totally SPAM these boards with photos. XD

Unfortunately no I haven't lol. I have never been outside the united states but I would like to go sometime I would also like to go to Europe as well lol

Me too, Katie. I've also never been outside the US, and Europe looks nice. I want to go to Paris for the shopping!

I've never been to the real Ferngully but I would really love to go. I think it would be a cool experience, especially for people who are big fans of the movie. I didn't know there was a real Mt. Warning, though. I would just love to check that place out!

Oh yes, it's real. The aboriginals hold it sacred, and fear that evil lurks within the volcano, much like Hexxus, if I remember correctly.
