This is all HYPOTHETICAL, mind you. Ferngully is never going to get a cartoon series and I know that. This is just speculation, for fun or boredom.
So, we all know Disney likes to make spinoff series for a lot of their movies. Imagine what it would be like if Ferngully had a cartoon series.
What would you think of it? What would you put in it? What sort of things would you like to see in it?
Personally, I'd love more Hexxus at some point. ;D Annnd I'd like to see other human chars or fairies or animals getting more told about them. Which Crysta, Zak, Pips, and Batty at times still being main chars of course.

OMG! A Ferngully TV show? That would be wonderful! I was just thinking about that right now at the last minute before you mention it. Actually, I would like to see one happening. Not too many non-disney movies get a show of their own (I had to wait about 6 years before Disney made a television show for The Emperor's New Groove, but I dunno about the other past ones. Lilo and Stitch got their series fast a year later after they release Stitch! The Movie.)
Of course, I wouldn't doubt in mind that they would for sure have Pips, Crystal and Batty returning *dreams about seeing on Batty on TV everyday* XDD I'm not sure about Zak, but if they did bring him back as a fully on character that would be good. I remember when they had The Land Before Time TV show on Cartoon Network, Guido and Ali made guest appearance on the series, but Chomper was the only character outta those sequels to be appearing more than briefly.
I can see some pointers about Hexxus returning because it's now the second time that he's been trapped inside of a tree, so chances are, I do think that he'll try escape from it again if humans were to try to destory Ferngully once more.

You know it's so funny you brought this up Shauni because I remember I used to have dreams about a tv series a long time ago and would check the tv for whatever reason when I woke up and would be disappointed everytime lol
Part of me wishes there would've been one because it would've been cool but because of the animation and lack of Zak in the sequel I don't think it would've been good if you get my point but if it had good animation good storylines and brought back Zak into it, it would get an A in my opinion lol

Yay, great minds think alike! And yeah, I notice that. Which is really a shame, because there are several non-disney movies I'd love to see shows for. Even if people say that the fandoms get ruined by those shows Heheh, they'd all be fun to see on television, wouldn't they? And you know, that's a good point. I remember that with the land before time. Hrm..Well maybe Zak could make guest appearances throughout the first season, busy with his own life and stuff- then after some epic cliffhanger first season ending, decide to be more active with his old friends during the second or third season. =o Yeah! hehe, maybe I'm just lame, but the way I see it as throughout the entire 'season' -first and/or second, he's building power, humans are doing dumb things which are helping him, and for a season finale movie type thing (an hour long episode some tv shows have to finish off their seasons)- he could break out. And then a great deal of time in future episodes could be spent trying to defeat him and imprison him in the tree again. Maybe he manages to escape if they beat him and start stealing power from human machines and crap again- maybe even the occasional odd getting a human to help him out for a minor period of time. More great minds thinking alike lol! ooh, really? I both love and hate those type of dreams. On one hand they're awesome to have, but on the other it's so disappointing when you wake up and realize that it doesn't exist. ;.; I get what you're saying. That's the main issue with a lot of tv sequels. Some tv series based on movies have done pretty or fairly well in my opinion, or at least they weren't as bad as some people said. But some tv series did kind of...yeah, bomb. D: Like the american tail goes west series. I loved that movie and the characters, but definately not what they did with several of them in the show. So it's totally possible the series could be like the second movie, or just a cheaply done version if ever done- which would be bad. But, like you said- if it was like the first movie animation, the characters were the same like that beyond the inevitable obs/technicalfanchars the writers wrote in, and Zak was in it a good deal along with the main cast- it' could be awesome. What channels do you guys think would have played this/be good for playing it if it existed?

I couldn't really tell ya to be honest because Ferngully is a 20th Century Fox type movie so by making a TV series for the show, I guess the best way to put it on which channel in my guess could be ABC Family or Fox. Wait! Did you say that An American Tail had a series of their own? Seriously? Nobody told me about that! I remember when I was growing up, I actually found out that really late, and I mean late late, that there was a TV show for All Dogs go to Heaven and no one would tell me! I did saw one episode of it before when it used to be on TV, but I didn't feel the same virbe to it like I did before with the original movie, the sequel and the christmas special, but I think it got taken down so fast because the ratings for it wasn't very good at all. But thank you for bringing up the first and second season topics Shauni, because I thought about it now after you reply to my and Katie's respone. THE RATINGS! What would TV do to it after it airs? And how long will they stay on for? I think back then in the 90s before Ferngully got a sequel, most of the movie-based TV shows kinda got sucky reviews and didn't last very long. So if a Ferngully TV show were to be coming on say like right NOW, then from what I would think by the people from televison, they'll just make the series last for two seasons and that's it! No more, because I don't believe Ferngully was that popular back then in 1992 when it came out. But also I think that Hexxus' defeat would be much harder without trapping him into a tree so much but then how can you really defeat someone that's made from pollution?

Oh yes that's right I also forgot about the Fox channel lol I suppose it would probably be on that channel as well lol. But you did bring up a good point how long would it last? Due to it's popularity I would say not long though my hope is that it would last for a very long time and I would definetly record every episode and buy it if it did come out on dvd lol

Yeah, it would probably never happen, but if there were a TV show I would like to see it explore minor characters like Crysta's father, and maybe they can even intorduce Crysta's mother into the show. I would also like to see the show go deeper into the characters history, like maybe they can even do a back story on Hexxus! Wouldn't that be cool?
